The West Side Market

The West Side Market is an ethnically diverse market housing over a hundred vendors which include Irish, Slovene, Italian, Greek, Polish, Russian, German and Middle Eastern. Many stalls at the West Side Market are family owned some dating from its open. Vendors sell Meats, Dairy, Baked goods, Produce, Seafood, and a large range of specialty shops that sell spices, imported food, and food stands for the hungry shopper. It was originally an outdoor market were local farmers and ranchers would sell goods the West Side Market building was then built across the stdeet from where the original open air market. Finished in 1912 at a cost of nearly $680,000 it would cost $16,170,291.92 in today’s dollars (as of 2014).
