Start this Cleveland Heights journey in the tranquil and beautiful Lakewood Cemetery. Founded in 1869 and stretching over 280 acres, this Ohio landmark has plenty of treasures to explore. One monument not to miss is the Wade Memorial Chapel. The chapel was built to honor the founder of Western Telegraph Company and the first president of Lake View, Jeptha Wade . The interior was designed and crafted by Tiffany studios and has a stunning stained-glass window and intricate mosaics adorning the walls.
When you are finished walking the grounds, head to Little Italy for an afternoon espresso and handmade Italian pastries at Presti's. In nice weather, sit on the sidewalk patio to people-watch and soak up the charm of this old-world neighborhood. Little Italy is also home to over 20 local art galleries. You can finish out the afternoon exploring the collections and hopefully finding something to take home to remember your visit.
